I don't see a bias as you do. I have seen reactionary folks on both
sides of the GOTO/star-hopping fence. Certainly some anti-GOTOers
have simply asserted without any reason better than "beginners should
learn the sky first." That begs the question; the bone of contention
really *is* whether beginners should have to learn the sky *first*, or
whether they can learn it better in time, having first used GOTO.

Of course, some GOTO folks do react defensively. But all that says is
that some people are defensive--not that either side of the argument
has established any kind of iron-clad case. I believe that's because
there's no iron-clad case to be had here.
