Thanks for your clarifications Roland. I freely admit that I know
bupkis about the manufacturing of large (or any, frankly) optic. As
for the plastic/aluminum thing, plastic has a bad repuation. In many
folks' mind, it says "cheap", despite its being more durable than
aluminum and will take more knocks while acquiring fewer dings. I
think many folks also equate plastic with cheap, made in China,
products.
