Meade has long been a supplier of precision equipment for specialized
applications. Looking closely at this assembly, however, it appears not to use a
true worm gear set, but rather the same hybrid worm/spur system used on LX200s.
So as nice as the machining is, I doubt it is any more precise than an LX200
(certainly not bad, but not exceptional either).
