1 - here's a link for the RAW webcam stuff with all the firmware you need:
http://www.astrosurf.com/astrobond/ebrawe.htm
2 - The b&w ccd replacement will improve s/n significantly for each frame
and therefore require fewer stacked frames and less avi capture time.

3- to significantly increase the bandwidth and frame rate, you could also
buy an Ethernet or Firewire webcam . Orange Micro makes a webcam called Ibot
Firewire or firewire Pro which use the same Sony icx098AK CCD sensor as the
Philips Vesta (avoid the usb2.0 orange micro because that uses a cmos
sensor) and does 30fps at 640x480 uncompressed :

Here's a website that lists the most widespread webcams and their imaging
sensor model # :
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/molyned/web-cameras.htm
I'm wondering if anybody tried the Orange Micro firewire with the b&w CCD
mod . According to Etienne Bonduelle, the b&w sensitivity was increased 3
fold compared to the icx098ak . That's 3 fold s/n increase, link this with
the 30fps should be a killer planet imager.
