Wow. Southern hemisphere too. Nice shots. Got a friend who
took some shots with his D70 camera, including some
movies he put together using powerpoint. There were these
really cool, and very bright green, 'vortices' near the
northern horizon (here in northern hemisphere). Very active, but
impossible to capture the motion of the things without using
a webcam. Camera exposure times too long.
Friend (Abe Megahed) hasn't posted many of his images online.

I've read that very intense displays can be heard. A 'fizzing'
noise. Now that would be creepy. Anyone know if this is true?
