I dont know of any type of glass that can replace flourite, and cost lots less!
 Most of you know making optics for larger APO's is not cheap, also the same
for Maks. But maybe the day will come we will have cheap APO's with the
quality that AP puts into its's optics and OTA's, but i sure wont hold my
breath waiting!!!
