FYI Pan Am 103 was brought down in retailiation for the Iranian 747 that the
U.S. navy "accidently" splashed the year before. Something like 400 Iranian
women and children died in that crash. Think hard and you should be able to
recall the photos of the bodies floating in the sea. As for the U.S embassy
affair, don't forget that the United States propped up the Shah of Iran for
20 years and was thus complicit in one of the most brutal and repressive
regimes in modern times. The
Muslim world justifieably hates the U.S. government but that hatred does not
necessarily translate to individual americans. If I could afford it, I'd
watch the eclipse from Tehran in a heartbeat. LC
