This is a business proposal announcement from an individual, and that may
be of interest to a number of the readers of science.astronomy.amateur.

To the readers of science.astronomy.amateur:

I am a designer and inventor, and my current project is the design of a new
telescope and mount that may be of interest to the serious amateur and
semi-pro markets. The telescope is a 10" diam. Newtonian that is fitted to
a solid metal base mounting. The set up is demountable for travel, however,
the base and tube components and their cases would best be transported in
an SUV.

I have drawn the design in highly accurate detail in my computer in
MicroStation 3-D CAD format. Several features are being added to the
overall design, and the design development, without drives, is at
approximately the fifty to seventy percent completion stage.

There is more to the project than I can explain at this time. There are
possible patentable inventive concepts in the design, and for that matter,
secret design features.

Should the readers of S.A.A be interested in possible participation in the
project I would be happy to show them the designs. I am located in Edison
NJ, and the designs are viewable in MicroStation on the computer, or in
time they may be sent as electronic images.

The type of partners or co-participants that would be of interest are:

1) An astronomer advisor who knows the sky and has direct experience with
telescope technology. That person might be an expert, educator, or
technologist. Some way of paying that person could be found.

2) An astronomer who can help design the motor drives, and criticize the
design of the mechanical, optical and digital image systems. That person
would have engineering knowledge, math, knowledge of components, and could
help advise the development of the overall design. That person could be a
partner in the project and would have a major interest percentage to be
decided upon by negotiation.

3) I would be responsible to integrate the overall engineering design and
styling, make the engineering drawings, obtain evaluations and price
quotations from parts suppliers, oversee the prototyping process, and
order, assemble and package products for shipment.

4) A telescope sales marketer, who may be either a marketer via the
internet or store, and who could help promote the product to the expert
amateur market.

5) telescope producer or manufacturer or even a marketing firm who would
order products based upon a valid prototype sample.

6) Possibly a specialty manufacturer of accessories could find the
telescope to be a good addition to their line of components.

7) Investor. That is too a nebulous person in the scheme and may be the
same person as one of the others.

8) A business manager would surely be of interest, however, at this time I
don't know how that individual would fit the overall picture or whether the
person would be the same as one of the other participants.

These are the beginning steps. You can see from the above descriptions that
some thought has been given to the project. The project is in the
engineering design stage, and the current design concepts may be further
refined and developed. Some of the features may be candidates for
applications for patents. Realistically speaking, however, the new higher
USPTO fees can pour cold water on the sapling project and leave it
vulnerable to knock-offs by the PRC if not others. There are risks. The
market potentials have not been evaluated at this time, and knowledgeable
participants are definitely preferred in order to take the project through
a series of decision points.

I'm getting my own fun out of the designing. I want to work with others who
could see similar benefits. My experience is fifteen years in designing
manufactured products, and nineteen years in CAD designing, three of which
are common. I'm also a V.P. and Trustee of the National Society of
Inventors and Member of the American Society of Inventors. This is not, and
I underscore, not, an invention marketing scheme.

I post this on science.astronomy.amateur because I think that there may be
other individuals out there who may have some other telescope-related ideas
or even inventions that may be in need of a manufactured product to make
them real. Multiple ideas may possibly be combined into the same product,
and the total unit would be more valuable.

This is a new, not yet even a fledgling, venture. Should professional
astronomers, amateurs, inventors, managers, marketers or investors be
interested in learning more of this project and its current telescope
design, please send me an email or call me.

All inquiries will receive replies, and the serious inquirers who desire
more detailed information should be willing to read and sign a
non-disclosure agreement to help protect the intellectual property and
rights of all involved. Accordingly, the current designs will be made
available for review and evaluation.

Is this a project that may be of interest to some of the readers of
science.astronomy.amateur?

I open the discussion to the floor.

Thank you.
