Sounds like your first step ought to be to hire a consultant. It might save
you some grief as well as give you a better understanding of the market place.

Telescope design is always a compromise, portability, optics, aperture, mount
type, cost. One of the reasons for the success of the Asian 10 inch F5 DOBs
was that Orion had the good sense when they designed it to realize how
important it was that the OTA could fit easily in a small car.
