As for your query, I own Macs, PCs, and so much other hardware I can
cause a brownout in NY if I fire it all up. I have SCTs and APOs, thus
I'm either a glutton or an idiot, quite likely both.
But there is something to be taken from our consumption of personal
computers and telescopes. They are simply tools. And one hammer, one
screwdriver and one drill bit aren't likely to take you very far.
Although if throw in a coconut the professor from Gilligan's Island
could probably build a satellite dish with same.
Each tool has its place, and each tool serves a unique purpose.
Overlap only exists in the mind of a spouse or significant other.
Oh, yah, both my wife and her colleague have locked up twice today on
XP. I can't even *recall* the last time *any* of my OS X boxes did so.
