A lot of how you're feeling is totally dependent on the inadequacy of your
"garbage filters"- in other words, the settings of your newsgroup filters.
Set them to ignore key terms or individuals, and you'll see only what's
pertinent. To me, it doesn't seem like you have any filters in place so my
first priority, if I was in your position, would be to learn how to enable
the filters. Do that any you should have no more trouble. And, yes, don't
be surprised how much the messages are curtailed once you get rid of the OT
stuff. It's true that there IS a lot of OT stuff here for sure, but that
doesn't mean it has to spoil your day!
