Chris - just a few points, sorry if they were already expressed

- use the TFT at its native resolution, usually 1600x1200 for 20 and 21
inches panels, 1280x1024 for 19 and 17 inches panels, 1024x768 for smaller
ones. If you are using any other resolution, interpolation comes into play
and really isn't bad.

- use DVI over standard analog VGA if you can. The difference is really a
major one. The standard here is dual samsung 213T and when the video card
has only one DVI connector, the difference in quality is obvious.

- do not overdrive DVI, it has a limited bandwidth and outside specs (say
at 1920x1600 at 75 hz for example) you are relying a lot on the quality of
the elements.

- be aware of the limitations of TFTs for image editing (there is a vary
interesting article in four parts on www.extremetech.com by one of the
luminaries (if I dare say so) of the display industry
