Two thousand years ago I'm sure the Greeks were saying the same thing
about anything the Romans made, thirty years ago some Americans were
saying the same thing about anything the Japanese made, and two
thousand years from now I'm sure some people on Mu Arae 3 will be
saying the same thing about anything made by the people of Upsilon
Andromedae 4.
I'd hate to point out the obvious, but for the most part,
manufacturing is moving to the second and third world and it's a good
thing...better than having them languishing in poverity and wonder why
the first world has everything and they have nothing. The first world
on the other hand is migrating to smarter information/service based
economies. It's called evolution. It's called change. Get over it.
