Usenet is certainly the land of the free and home of the strange:

An odd pattern has emerged...
The following posters all
1.) Post from the same earthlink subnet
2.) Use the name John, Jason or Ryan
3.) use a .net in their "From" line in headers.
4.) Have the same version of OE

And the above is true for a well-remembered troll who posted here a while back, then claimed it was his son "Seth" was really responsible for the posts, then posed as "Seth" to apologize.

I'm posting these headers so you can compare yourself. I just noticed that a lot of slightly odd postings were coming from newsread1.news.alt.earthlink.net

Then I noticed that most of them were from someone named "John ___", then I noticed the .net in the from lines, the version numbers of the newsreaders, and so on. Multiple personalities, I surmise.


Funny, huh? Sure hope my back feels better soon so I can do something productive. ;-)

First of all, thanks to all who responded to my previous thread concerning
how to properly pronounce "Uranus".  Yesterday, I gave my oral presentation
on the solar system.  Up until the last minute, in my mind, I determined to
say it as either you-ray-nus or your-ah-nus.  I decided on the latter about
10 seconds before saying it.  The result was a very good presentation, there
were no disruptions, and I got an A-.  The minus being because I wobble a
bit sometimes I think because of nerves.
