Re: Celestron NexStar 4 GT auto-align problem?

A couple of suggestions:

1) Are you carefully leveling the tripod? If not, then that will
introduce pointing errors with the auto-align.

2) If is not at all unusual to have the alignment stars outside of the
fov of an EP even with auto-align routines. At least learn the names
and positions of the brightest stars in the sky and manually slew the
scope to center the alignment stars as necessary.

If after you do (2) to complete an alignment and the scope still
misses targets by a large margin, then you may actually have some
problem with the goto system.
