I have non Celestron 4 GT look alike scope mounted on the mount and
I had experienced the same difficulties you describe until I selected
80 GT; now I am getting unneccessary slew limit warnings as a
consequence but otherwise mount is performing as expected.
But until first successfull alignment the mount's idea about the sky
was still plain wrong.
