HI Bill:

Unlike the DSI, the LPI does NOT require USB 2.0. Until I got the DSI,
1.1 is all I used with it. The LPI will be noticeably faster, with 2.0,
however. I believe you'll be able to tell what your USB ports are by
looking in the system folder...under device manager.
