Elephantitus Strikes Dob

Help! I just acquired a used XT10 and notice some swelling around
the compressed sawdust boards at the joints in the base. I live in the
Northeast and sometimes at the end of an observing session condensation
will actually produce a film of liquid water on any surface exposed to
radiational cooling. Today, I started to urethane all exposed
compressed sawdust surfaces but is this enough? Should I be visiting
the baltic birch store pronto?
