One day someone will educate certain Americans that scopes are supposed
to be mounted permanently and weight really doesn't matter. ;-)

If it was a boat you'd just have a matching trailer and/or a crane
and/or hydraulics/pneumatics and/or winch, ropes, cables and pulleys to
put it in the right place.

You pay *lots* of money for a telescope that you can't manage
physically and then complain? What's that all about then? :-)

So why are some amateur astromers so obtuse that they inflict these
problems on themselves? :-)

Why aren't such OTAs made of magnesium or carbon fibre to reduce
weight? As are bicycles, motorcycles, cars, aeroplanes, boats, canoes,
fishing tackle, etc.etc.etc.etc.

Surely paying thousands of dollars for such a modestly-sized instrument
should get you rather more than a nice lens with an add-on OTA
structure thrown into the deal more as an afterthought? :-)

Where are the common handling tools developed over the last century to
make all amateur instruments completely practical in use? Where are the
common-or-garden rise and fall piers that allow easy mounting before
lifting the OTA to a comfortable height to match the observer and
desired object?

Why do many still insist on bringing their telescopes out of the heated
house into the freezing cold and then complain about cool-down time?
Then after hours of waiting for it to cool down enough to give decent
images you pack up and take it back indoors for a sauna? This just
isn't logical. :-)
