I'm not sure why you keep mentioning a discontinued lens from Canon when the
current model is the 16-35 f2.8 which can be had for $1350 and if that is
too expensive you can always buy the 17-40 f4 for $660, there are also some
very good full frame wideangle zoom lenses from 3rd party suppliers like
Sigma and Tamron which are much less expensive still.
