the ETX is a fine scope. I have the ETX105 which suits me fine. I think though that the ETX
might not be the best starterscope. The computer adds complexity and makes it more expensive.
Why not look at the Orion 80 shorttube EQ refractor. it costs only $279 and offers a nice wide
field of view. the focal length is only 400mm but I think it makes a better starterscope than
the ETX105.
I am considering buying this refractor as a guidescope on my LX200.
