A location along longitude does not rotate to face the Sun every 24
hours hence the Equation of Time noon correction which effectively
isolates axial rotation to an independent motion at 24 hours/360
degrees or 15 degrees per hour. The sidereal justification otoh
calculates rotation against the Sun as an equable 24 hours and
subsequently then calculates the return of a star to the same position
as 23 hours 56 min 04 sec. by converting the axial longitude
equivalency to a .986 orbital displacement.

The math is simple, the astronomical conception of the sidereal value is
simpleminded -

360 degrees = 24 hours
1 degree = 4 min
..986 deg = 3 min 56 sec

24 hours minus 3 min 56 sec = 23 hours 56 min 04 sec

JTaylor, you are a civil person yet you cannot manage no more than a
one line question which eventually goes nowhere as does the vacuous
Newtonian views that were built on a conception of axial rotation in 23
hours 56 min 04 sec.

Cataloguers and theorists have given themnselves choices they do not
have, the bare minumum of intelligence recognises that the axial
rotation of the Earth can only be a single event with one single value
corresponding to that event. The insanity that believes that two
external references (Sun and distant stars) can be used for rotation
through 360 degrees should turn the stomach of any person yet this
awful lapse of reasoning is celebrated as an intellectual
achievemnet,either Newtonian quasi-geocentricity or relativistic
homocentricity.
