Dawn, noon, dusk, dawn ... is a consequence of the single axial rotation
of the Earth, start to pretend that you have choices on this matter and
you are not an astronomer,it is that simple. You and the mathematical
theorists are giving yourselves choices you do not have and worse
still, you are tying the Earth's axial rotation directly to external
references and comparing the values such as reference to the Sun (which
you erroneously attribute a constant value of 24 hours exactly) and
the distant stars ( based on a 4 year and 1 day calendrical average.

I will direct you to the first chapter of the Longitude Problem by Dava
Sobel, and even though there is no appearance in that book of the
Equation of Time principles on which clocks and terrestial longitudes
rely,I have given you the astronomical foundations where the
pre-Copernican equable 24 hour day translates into independent axial
rotation at 24 hours/360 degrees.

Some of the benefits of restoring the correct value for axial rotation
and restoring the correct relationship between axial rotation and
orbital motion then become obvious and the richness of the different
avenues are due to dropping these ridiculous sidereal observer
choices and allowing the motions of the planet to direct the insights.

For instance,it is easy to see how the Earth's rotation affects the
Equatorial bulge through differential rotation in the mantle by
observing that the difference between Equatorial and polar regions is a
standard in stars and planets -

http://www.astronomynotes.com/starsun/sun-rotation.gif

As the Equatorial bulge is a terrestial feature it is no great leap to
apply this differential rotation to the smaller component tectonic
plates (you are living on one !) as a mechanism replacing the
contemporary choice of a stationary earth/convection cells.

Instead of trying to blunt the effectiveness of my explanations with a
one line 'why' you would be more productive if you spent a few minutes
with differential rotation as an original topic that has yet to emerge.

The astronomical value of the dawn and dusk alignment at the Equinox is
too precious to discuss here in anything but outlines but cataloguers
erroneously give the Earth's axis a variable tilt to the Sun or orbital
plane when the correct perspective is to keep axial orientation
constant (Polaris) over an annual orbit and attribute the change to
orbital orientation thereby killing any chance to appreciate the
alignment.Unfortunately adopting the non existent axial tilt towards
the Sun to describe seasonal variations insofar as this is only valid
for one hemisphere and has no astronomical value when presented that
way -

This is only two of many greater insights which emerge from a simple
adjustment to a correct value for axial rotation.

So,real astronomers have an utter horror of overheated linguistics and
insincerity and given that while most of humanity does actually know
how clocks and axial rotation mesh at 15 degrees of rotation per
hour,it is incredible that celestial cataloguers and theorists go out
of their way to ignore the exquisite principles which are present in
the pace of those equable hours.

You have been extremely civil and I enjoy this for a change, even if you
have no intention of making the effort to changing the awful lapse of
reasoning that fixes the Earth's rotation to a celestial sphere, the
chances are that the process to recover the correct value has already
begun in the wider population (the Longitude book was a very popular
book when it appeared).I had thought that this process would be
accelerated through the courage of individuals in the cataloguing
community but it appears that they remain content with speculative
theorists and their anti-astronomy homocentric concepts, therefore they
will become isolated with them as a group that has more in common with
creationism and sci-fi than with genuine investigations.

Your call.
