What you have, is one of the best 'lightweight' mounts/controllers around.
Provided your scope is not too heavy, it should be great.
There has been a lot of development recently, with electronics prices
relatively 'tumbling', and the mass-production savings, make some of the
new controller combinations fantastic 'value for money'. However generally
the Vixen mounts are better made and finished than the new cheaper mount
packages being offered. Unless you need a heavier mount, stick with what
you have. As you say, it is possible to fit the SS2K controller to almost
any mount, and there are even descriptions on the web of attaching it to a
G11. It is possible to fit the other controllers to different mounts, but
the design of the motor casings in particular, makes this a more complex
job....
Best Wishes
