Power Solution for Remote Telescopy?

I'm looking for some recommendations on portable power solutions for remote
dark site telescopy. I don't want to be anchored to my 12V automobile DC
aux port. Looking for either a retail source or DIY solution using a 12V
deep cycle battery. I'm not fond of the Power Tank. I'll need to provide
12-18v DC to my scope EQ drives, laptop and CCD equipment for up to eight
hours continuous. I'll entertain small generators providing 110AC, but they
have to be supremely quite.
