Yes, the 114mm scope is a very nice size. My Meade 4500 is satisfying my
need for a "star-fix" quite well until my recoated mirrors for the 12.5
incher come back from Spectrum. I took the 114mm to a dark location last
weekend and spent a little time under the sky. M31 was surprisingly good
and it also captured M110 and M32. . .110 was not easy to see, but it was
visible. Then, the other night, from my fairly light polluted southern
horizon here in Lake Stevens, I star hopped to M22 and was pleased with
that view also. I have four days off for Labor Day and plan to use it any
of those nights that are clear.
