states that sniping on eBay is illegal. Take your time, look
everywhere.

Yes, I'm sure eBay's master plan is to prevent people from bidding, so
they can lose money and go out of business as soon as possible.

Try reading what was written. The bid was posted as soon as it was
received. It was not secret. Where did you get this idea that you have
the right to defend your bid against any other? Didn't you notice that
eBay auctions have a fixed end time? Are you that slow?
