I too was interested in the Petzval but heard from the inside that the early
delivered ones had serious issues and were pulled from the market by
Antares. I picked up the model 1529 at a very good price and because I do
like the wide field refractors, decided it was a reasonable risk. I'm very
pleased with the Orion 120ST and have used it as a work horse---it does give
a nice FOV and the optics are great for DSOs. So I thought another inch
would be even better. There is false color and I hate false color but I
don't use it on bright enough objects for the false color to show. I have
found that I can locate objects and see targets faster than other people
using different telescopes --- including long fl refractors. I may be just
used to and good with my equipment. The other nice thing about the Orion
120ST is that it can be had for nothing---$200 for a really good general
performer. That makes it a nice "beater" scope---I don't have to baby it in
other words.

The jury is still out whether the Antares f/6.5 is worth the money. I have
only compred it to the Celestron. I'm not impressed with the Celestron at
all. But today I'm going to test collimation and see if it is out of
adjustment.
