Eyepiece cleaning question after Katrina

Everything we owned was ruined by Hurricane Katrina. My eyepieces were in
an eyepiece case that I thought was waterproof -- it was not. The case
leaked and salt water wet the foam and the eyepieces. The eyepiece now
suffer from:
-- rust and pitting from salt water on all metal parts
-- all glass is coated with a thin dull film of something, probably salt and
junk from the water

What can I do to clean the eyepieces? Or should I try? Insurance company
reimbursed full price for all my eyepieces -- maybe I should just toss the
old ones and buy new ones.

By the way, anyone know of a truly waterproof case?
