Sorry, I'm sticking with responding at the bottom, which I find much
clearer. Personally, I sometimes skip responses if I have to scroll down
to figure out what they are responses to.

For the most part, however, the scrolling problem goes away if you just
trim out the parts of the original post that aren't necessary. The
single most annoying Usenet response style is 500 lines of original
message at the top with a two line response at the bottom!

And if you really need to respond in detail to a very long post, the
best way to do it is one point at a time, in line.
