Yikes! You've stepped on the third rail of usenet. The truth is that what
works is what will prevail. The problem is people use different readers and
read threads in different fashions. The bottom line: chaos will prevail.

I agree with Brian that the biggest issue is a vast wasteland of previous
posts mixed in with a new post. Just leave enough for a little context for
your post. Then, top or bottom, we'll figure it out.
