I love it when people pontificate, and then quote other opinions as if they are facts that prove their position.
Let's face it, sometimes clarity is best served by bottom posting. Sometimes it requires replying point-by-point, throughout the post. And sometimes, in a quick response, top posting works best. But by "works best" I mean for different individuals.
Myself, I'm with the crowd that favors better editing. Leave enough for context and we'll figure out the rest --- top, bottom or middle.

(or was that the other way around?)
