Some advice needed for newcomer

OK. I have a SkyWatcher 150mm Reflector
(http://www.skywatchertelescope.com/15075PEQ3-2.html) and a Canon EOS
350D Digital SLR Camera
(http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_finder/cameras/digital_slr/eos_350d/index.asp)
I want to:
1. .....be able to take some good astro pictures with my camera
2. .....get more lenses for general observations
Question 1:
I know I must get a T adapter for my scope and also one for my camera.
Does the camera then directly attach to the scope? If so, what do I use
for magification? (not sure if this setup allows interconnecting
eyepieces, barlows, or camera lenses?). If not, won't all my camera
images be large FOVs?
Qestion 2:
I am quite new to all this, but don't want to get any old rubbish
(accessory-wise). I need a barlow and am thinking about getting a 1.25"
x2 barlow. I have been advised to go for the Orion Shorty but this
costs around £65. I have seen an Antares 1.25" x2 barlow aswell (which
the advert professes is similar in quality to the Orion) and i's only
around £25. Does anyone know whether it would be worth getting the
Orion?
Thanks
.
