Rod,

The last time I looked my RC Cass has a big "gap" right in the front of
the tube and my Obsession 20 Dob doens't even have a tube!

Now that could be a problem that is difficult to fix. A friend owns one of
the two RC Cass companies and he told me that the focus/col system was his
main concern with the Meade RCX design as described on paper. He though
there was a chance that focusing would change the collimation. However, even
if this is a problem, if you need a big coma free field, it would be worth
it to just use a seperate focuser like many folks do with SCTs. While I
think an RC would be a better scope, one consideration is price: For what I
paid for my RC 10 tube and Mountain Instruments mount I could buy several
RCX's and keep 1 or 2 as backups for when one of them needed to be repaired
by Meade!
