Re: Scopes dripping wet

Condensation occurs when a cold surface is exposed to a warm/humid
environment. If the rear element of the Tak is protected from the
warm/humid
air, then it cannot moisture cannot condense onto it.

If you brought the FC100 inside with nothing in the focuser, warm/humid
air
certainly could migrate into the tube and condense moisture onto the
rear
element.

Simple fix..

1) Put a small garbage bag over the FC100 dewshield, slip it past where

the dewshield/lens assembly screws onto the tube. (Bright blue ring
on
the new FS scopes.) Rubber band it with a couple rubber bands.

2) Put a DDCAP moisture absorbing focuser cap into the focuser.

3) Put a small garbage bag over the entire focuser, past where the
Tak green cast aluminum assembly screws onto the tube. Rubber band
it with a couple rubber bands.

You'll notice condensation all over any remaining exposed tube, but it
wont be getting past the sealed bags.
