Eyepieces, barlows and filters are subject to individual tastes and I think
the best advice is to seek out other astronomers (join a club) and try stuff
out before you invest. That said, doing a Google search on eyepieces,
barlows, filters will reveal that there is some general consensus that
Televue and University Optics (esp. orthos) make good stuff. There are
other companies that I think have one or more good products, but not
everyone may agree. For instance, I have a Burgess Optical 6mm Planetary
eyepiece that I think is a super buy at $49.
I have not read many favorable recommendations for light pollution filters
so I don't own any.
