Sorry, but approved mailboxes were never a private matter in the
United States or in the colonies that existed before 1776.

This is true in virtually every country in the developed world, and in
many less developed countries as well.

Not in my country (Norway). It is ridiculous if private messages can not be put in your neighbour's mailboxes. Commercial, unsolicited mailbox spamming is one thing, but this is something else IMHO. We do it often here, no problem, it is what mailboxes are for.

Of course, it may not be the most efficient method for solving a light pollution problem. But people are different, talking face to face may sometimes work better, sometimes not.
