Thank you all for your advice. I still think that it's amazing such a
resource as this group is available at the touch of a keyboard.

Hi group,
I'm thinking of buying a 120 mm Short Tube Assembly from Orion. I've read
the reviews on Cloudynights but I was wondering if anyone here has any
comments on the performance and/or value of this scope. I have an 80mm
which I completely disassembled to re-grease and blacken all of the inside
surfaces. I assume that I will have to do the same to the 120mm. Having
just sold my G-9 1/4 I am not too interested in looking at planets or deep
space objects but rather at wide sweeps of the sky with enough aperture to
grab some detail. I plan on using a Televue two inch diagonal with an
assortment of Nagler and Panoptic eyepieces ranging from 31mm to 7mm. Is
this tube good enough, or are there better instruments out there?
Thanks in advance,
Mike Nowak
