Hi:
AFAIK, the only display adjustment for this HC is to turn on/off the
backlight for the display. Is the display dim indoors, or does this
only happen out in the cold?

If only outside (at this time of year in the US of A anyway) try
sticking the HC in your pocket when not in use...if that seems to help
rubberband a hand warmer etc to the HC...
A brightness control would be very nice however...Mine is way too
bright .. !
