I live in the High Mojave Desert in a trailer, if I wanted to grind a
mirror, there's no real way I could have done it, not with the summer heat,
winter cold, and dust all the time. So when I built my Babylon 8 Dob, I got
the mirror ready made, from another user from SAA even. If I lived ina house
and could have set up a room just for it, I might have at lest tried my hand
at grinding, but not here. So it depends on what you can afford, what you
want to do, and what your living set up is like too.

Hi
Wow, nice website !!
(bookmarked already)
There is the other angle here.
Get a completed optic set, and then make a tube
assembly. I've thought about going this route.
With two *large* dog's who have the run of the
house, no way could I ever get a dust free
environment... Even makes exploring the back yard an
adventure. Think F.I.F.O. here. (has to go somewhere)
Nothing like the female start barking at 1 am at the
coyote and fox in the woods behind us while I'm observing.
