If planets aren't a high priority, then you can save yourself some money,
if you'd rather.<
Planets are high on my list of observing favorites. But, of course,
the wallet is an issue.
You'll read nothing but glowing reviews on all Starmaster scopes, and the
EL-11 has always been said to be an absolute killer.<
I'm absolutely drooling over the 11" ELT (which I'm assuming is the
same as the EL-11?). But the 12.5" Discovery is $1500 less expensive,
so I'm deliberating between satiating my desire and saving a
significant chunk o' dough. :/
if you have a very LARGE budget and can afford it, I'd go with the
Starmaster, but if your on a smaller limited budget, then you might go the
route of Discovery. <
The budget is limited. I just don't want to regret having saved some
money by going with a less expensive scope. By the way, thanks for the
URLs to the Yahoo groups, though the Dob list is apparently extinct.

Or you could go with one of these for quite a bit less than a Starmaster,
and still have a Carl Zambuto mirror...
