You're way off base here. Trying to "bust" the teacher didn't
anything. What she was trying to convey to you was in personal
situations... avoidance of violence among peers which, although can be
enforced to a certain extent by the teacher, is still mainly the
responsibility of the parents at home.
Lets see here.
My kid was attacked by another. My son preceded to beat
the crap out of his attacker. The school told me my son
was too violent in his attack, though they freely admitted
the other threw the first punch, and the several that followed.
BTW first punch the other kid threw hit my son in the back of
the head when he wasnt looking, total sneak attack.
After my son got his act together he proceeded to win the fight.
Now tell me how is that wrong on his part ??
Rules are rules. All schools have a discipline policy and there are two
sides to every story. Perhaps there's more to the story coming from the
other side of the coin....
If you or anyone physically attacked me, I WILL defend myself,
whats wrong with that ?
Again, you are conveying your side. If both parties submitted their version
of what happened, only then could the light be properly shared.
Yeah, ok. This is where I stop believing and start dismissing your
statements. No evidence nor backing up your claims.
When it comes to others that are different, and those different
people he dosnt like, I told him it was perfectly ok NOT to like
others, he just couldnt treat people different from him any other
manner than he wants to be treated. (seems fair enough to me)
Teachers told him, and myself that I was dead wrong.......
(well for the most part, they agreed with my last statement)
You appear to have a bias against teachers in general, unfortunately all too
common these days.
teachings.
I doubt this, seriously. I think you misinterpreted the actual
My kid came home and told me to my face, if I hit him, he
could call 911 and have me arrested.
That's true. There is that possibility.
My friend actually got arrested for this exact thing.
(disciplined his kid, who called 911)
Yes, it happened to my neighbors also.
I guess it is ok to you, for a teacher to try and undermine
parental authority
No, but after abuses of the past where too many fathers took their daily
frustrations out on the children, it's no wonder those authorities above and
beyond the parental kind exercise greater control.
you
If this is a true problem in your community, which I seriously doubt,
You would find or fund a way, if the issues were that important to you, orstill have the option of sending your child to a private school.
You must mistake me for someone of wealth.
You must not be aware of the cost of private schools
in northern VA.
send you child to a public school well known for having little/no problems
(you would have to do some research and "shop around"). It still costs more
to go to a public school outside of your area, but still not as much as
private schools in general.
These are the schools in Fairfax county VA
Which ones?
Glen Forest, Poe, Marshall, Mark Twain, should I go on ??
Figured that was coming. You have a few problems you can't specify with
evidence and then decide to blame the NEA. Smart move.
You REALLY need proof of the liberal bias of the NEA ????
You must not get out much.....
Liberal bias by whose account? Yours, the neighbors? Depends on how you
look at it. I, for one, used to work without a union before I went into
teaching and vowed that I would never do it again due to serious management/
employee problems. You call it "bias", I call it "protection".
Bet you think our colleges are bastions of conservatism...
No, I wouldn't go that far, but some of the current policies in effect,
started by the current administration, are in serious error.
BTW, younger son (fight winner) is now an infantryman
headed off to Iraq soon (Go STRYKER Birgade !!!!!!!!!)
He is in an elite unit, and is doing very well.
Congratulations. My nephew just returned from that part of the world also.
He did well too.
Older son makes several hundred grand a year now, just moved
to San Fransisco. He is only 24
Hmmm, must be an awfully young doctor, but then again some serious doubts
there.
Neither one has ever been arrested or in trouble with the law
before. Just like their father :)
Follow the rules/ laws and trouble should remain at bay. That goes for any
law abiding citizen.
Now you sir I have doubts with...........
You've said nothing that removes my doubt cloud from your words.
