Re: The Dumbing Down of Astronomers

Why do people think they should ignore the past? So they can improve

Why do they have a freaking collection of telescopes are they so empty
inside that possessions is all they know? Stop collecting them start
using them.

Sky&Telescope has done a lot to support this bad misbehavior. Anyone
here to show me one refractor review in Sky&Telescope which does more
than stating whether the refractor shows any sign of color or not.

One of the most badiest reviews I have ever read was the one of Ed T.
who discussed the new 66mm televue refractor. If the review hadn't been
appeared in Sky&Telescope I would not have figured out it has anything
to do with astronomy at all.

But you may not forgot a lot of people seem to be contented with
obtaining some deeper knowledge of basic telescope techniques. And it
is interesting indeed.

That appears in all fields: I know a lot of people who onw very
expensive road racers but wouldn't make it up to a hill. But heck they
own a carbon frame and that is all what actually will pleas them.
