That's the crux though: some will always believe they are inferior
since they cannot buy an expensive one and will quickly move away from
astronomy.

There are a lot of poor souls out there who will always believe they
experience an advantage due their expensive TeleVue 80mm apo, whereas
they should know every junk reflecting telescope in the size range of
100mm will do exactly as good.

That is the reason why I personally have canceled all my subsribtions
to any amateur astronomy memerships since at star parties or meetings
they have one problem: will my refractor show any sign of color.

Really I would know from all the guys out there who own 50 telescopes
parking in their garage: when guy did you make your last drawings of
Saturn, or Mars, or Venus, or Jupiter, or sunspots, or deep sky
objects, or ....
