Well, for what it's worth, the telescope can utilize low power, just
as the binoculars can. The only difference is that the binoculars
allow two-eyed observing, without any dimming, to boot.
But I was a little too veiled in my comment, I think. I was really
alluding to marketing practices, in which telescope manufacturers devote
a lot of space (too much space, in my opinion) to color correction.
Probably because many amateurs probably devote too much attention to
color correction. :) Apochromats have benefits besides color
correction.
