Interesting articles, Rod. I have the ZS80FD (same optics, red tube) and agree 100% with your assessment. The issues of mounting it on an ASGT were interesting to read (not tried that yet, strictly Alt-Az so far).
Mine tends to be rear-heavy. But it's easy to reverse the L-bracket and compensate for some of that.
Next goal is to get it on an EQ mount and do some astrophotography with it.
