There are, oddly enough, apps on the Mac which are not available on WinXP machines.

More of the other type though.

When an app is available on both (e.g. MS Office), the GUI is better (IMO) in the OS X version.

Then there is the virus/worm thing.

And there are intangibles. On the iBook when I close the lid, it sleeps. When I open the lid it wakes up in less than 5 seconds and I'm on line (PC laptop seems to take 30 sec or so .. but that could just be my PC laptops).

Networking is also easier and faster. When I write emails I can quickly attach a file from any shared directory in any machine on my network.

And I'm a novice Mac user :)
