I am considering purchasing a new telescope for both sky-watching and

Celestron C6 S-GT and the Meade ETX-125PE.
What are your opinions about these?
Hi:
I recently bought an ETX125PE and have been quite pleased with it. No,
it's not of heirloom quality, but it works and has very good optics.
That said, I purchased it because I needed a compact vacation cum grab
'n go scope. As far as everything else goes, the C6 is a better choice
IMHO. I've had a CG5 ASGT mount (that I use with a C8 OTA) for the last
year and it has worked very well indeed, far surpassing my
expectations.
I'm in very strong agreement re the C6 SGT being the better choice, particularly if you are interested in astrophotog in an EQ configuration.
I've personally found the Celestron Go-To system (on an Nexstar8GPS) to perform more consistently than Meade's Autostar (on an ETX-90).
Finally the ETX construction is less robust: Much more plastic used in its construction.
