I have an LXD75 Meade. Surely the rod that holds the mount proper to
the tripod is not where one would hold a level. And a carpenter's level
can't be the right tool either. A circular level must be the right thing.
Why isn't that built into the mount/tripod ?
The Meade manuals don't address this.
Everything I've read on polar alignment seems to mention that this must be
done, but I've seen nothing on leveling the tripod.
Any advice ?
When I want to level the tripod on my Meade 4500, I use a small bubble
leveler which is about the size of a fountain pen. Get them at the
hardware store for 3 to 5 dollars.
