Gray (luminance) is composed 50% of green and 25%/25% of red and blue.
The graph shows a superiority in noise of the D50 hence your statement
is incorrect.
Since most astro images are going to be
black backgrounds, I'd be concerned about the gray image noise.

graphs also show the D50 to be very noisy in the red where most nebula
reside.
Not in the red. In the H-alfa.
